CP&Y is Now Doing Business as STV
Last month, CP&Y officially began doing business as STV, a professional services firm that plans, designs and manages major infrastructure projects across North America. With aligned values focused on making communities better, the united STV team leverages its collective resources and capabilities to make an impact in Central Texas.
STV’s Impact
STV consistently ranks high among ENR’s Top Design Firms and most recently ranked 10th in the transportation category. For more than 50 years, STV has been a key player in the U.S. mobility industry, including initial rail transportation planning through final design, system startup and operation. The firm also delivers turn-key projects covering all aspects of bus transit infrastructure and vehicles.
STV understands the importance of mobility and trip reduction. For example, STV recently served as lead designer for the GLX Extension for the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority, which is now providing one-seat rides to previously underserved communities in Boston suburbs. STV is also playing a key role in the $11.2 billion Grand Central Madison project, a major capital investment designed to reduce commute times for Long Island Rail Road passengers by bringing them to the East Side of Manhattan, cutting commute times by 40 minutes. These projects underscore the critical importance that mobility and commuting play in communities.
Trailblazers for Equity in Infrastructure
As was also one of the first architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) firms to sign the Equity in Infrastructure Project Pledge, STV is committing to advancing equity in infrastructure with a goal of increasing the number, size and percentage of historically underutilized businesses (HUBs) growing to prime contractors, participating in joint ventures or becoming equity participants. Efforts like this will help build wealth and equity in underserved communities.
STV in Austin
The firm has been honored to serve the Austin community over the past several decades, such as partnering with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) on each segment of the Capital Expressway improvement projects, including final plans delivery of CapEx South, planning for CapEx North and schematic and environmental support for CapEx Central. Other key projects in Austin include design of the US 290 Toll and SH 130 interchange, environmental studies and documentation for State Highway 45SW (a high-profile, award-winning joint initiative of TxDOT and the Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority), and schematic design and environmental documentation for the US 183 North Mobility Project. STV celebrated its continued expansion in the Austin region with the opening of its second office downtown last year.
STV makes communities better through innovative solutions that connect people, places and the present to the future. With this mission and purpose in mind, STV enhances communities through their core values of integrity, partnership and optimism – all tenets that CP&Y always valued and embodied, which continues under the united STV team.
STV is proud to support Movability and its critical mission of working to improve the Central Texas region through commuter options that save time and money.
