1. How does Get There work?

Thanks to myCommute Solutions, a platform powered by RideAmigos, it's easy to log your trips - even your telework counts as a trip! All you do is enter the trips you took and the mode you used (e.g. carpooling, biking, public transit, driving). You'll earn points for each trip you log. Each week people who are actively logging trips are entered in random prize drawings for a $25 gift card. You can also use myCommuteSolutions to find ride matches and track how much money you're saving, how many calories you burn, and how much CO2 you save with different modes.

2. Does it cost anything to use Get There?

Nope! It's totally free to use. If you're an employer interested in becoming a Movability member, you can learn more about the price tiers of membership here.

3. Who runs Get There?

Get There is a program Movability developed with help from the City of Austin, the Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (CAMPO), the Capital Area Council of Governments (CAPCOG), and RideAmigos. Movability oversees the Get There program, including incentives and data.

4. Do I have to be a Movability member to use Get There?

You don't have to be a member to use Get There, but if you're part of a business or organization that is a Movability member, you'll be eligible for more incentives and prizes on top of the random drawings that all Get There users can win.

5. How do I know my data will be secure?

Get There uses the myCommute Solutions platform, run by RideAmigos. You can read RideAmigos' privacy policy here. While trips logged in Get There Central Texas provide data about how Central Texans travel, all identifying information is kept private. Movability will not have access to, or disclose or share your personal identifying information with any external parties.

6. Who can provide me with an emergency ride home?

Commuters can select any transportation mode including Ride Hail or Taxi, Ride Share (Uber, Lyft, etc.), Rental Vehicle (Car, Bike, Scooter), Transit, Car Share, and a Company Fleet vehicle.

7. How do I provide verification for Emergency Ride Home reimbursement?

All reimbursement requests must be accompanied with some form of verification. The type of verification required will depend on the circumstances of your emergency event. Examples of verification include:

  • Personal or family emergency (e.g., break-in at home, home maintenance emergency)
    • Supervisor Contact that can verify that you left work early
    • Documentation of a family/home emergency
  • Personal or family illness
    • Supervisor Contact that can verify that you left work early
    • Documentation from school showing child was sent home
  • Unscheduled overtime
    • Supervisor Contact that can verify that you stayed in the office late
  • Typical commuting mode becomes unexpectedly unavailable (e.g., vanpool vehicle breaks down)
    • Contact info from carpool/vanpool partners
    • Photos of vehicle breakdown (bike only)

8. If I tip my driver during an Emergency Ride Home will I be reimbursed for the tip?

No, Get There Central Texas cannot provide a reimbursement for any tip provided.

9. What if an emergency trip costs more than $75? Am I eligible for a trip reimbursement?

Yes, you are eligible for a reimbursement up to $75 if you have met all reimbursement requirements.

10. What if I need a ride to work? Is that eligible for emergency ride reimbursement?

Rides to work are not eligible for trip reimbursement.

11. I am signed up for Capital Metro's Guaranteed Ride Home Program, can you request reimbursement from the Commute Solution Emergency Ride Home program?

Yes, however, the Get There Central Texas Emergency Ride Home Program will only cover the reimbursement cost that is ineligible for reimbursement under Capital Metro's program. Movability staff will verify with Capital Metro if a user is enrolled and if they are or are not eligible for reimbursement under the program.

12. I need to make a stop at my child’s school, spouse's workplace, or the hospital before going home. Can I be reimbursed for the stops related to my emergency trip?

Yes, stops related to an emergency trip are eligible for reimbursement up to $75.

13. I am a part-time or contract worker. Am I still eligible for the Emergency Ride Home program?

Yes, you are eligible for the program if you are registered on Get There Central Texas and logged a qualifying trip within the 7 days prior to your emergency event.

14. What is considered a qualifying trip for Emergency Ride Home reimbursement?

Qualifying trips include: Carpool, Vanpool, Transit (Bus and Rail), Bike, and Walk.

15. I lost my receipt. Can I still have my Emergency Trip Home reimbursed?

Unfortunately, requests without a receipt are ineligible to receive reimbursement.
