Take Action on Commuter Tax Benefits

The Qualified Transportation Fringe Benefit, more commonly known as the commuter tax benefit, plays a vital role in creating efficient modes of transportation, decreasing traffic congestion, and providing greater mobility for people and goods. It allows employers to offer a $325 per month pre-tax “commuter stipend” for transportation costs such as transit, parking, and vanpools. Unfortunately, the commuter tax benefit is being targeted for elimination by Congress.

Removing this tax benefit will present a hardship to workers and will reduce employer interest in offering active and shared commuter benefits.

You can make YOUR voice heard and urge Congress to protect this benefit! Use this link to find your representative if you are unsure.
