Transit Can Get You to the Polls

Capital Metro is offering, as it does in every major election year, free rides to the polls on Election Day. This year Election Day falls on Nov. 3. On even-numbered years, Capital Metro offers free rides throughout Election Day on all its transit services.

Visit Capital Metro's website to plan your ride.

Texans can also vote before Election Day. The early voting period runs from Tuesday, October 13, 2020 to Friday, October 30, 2020. The Capital Area Rural Transportation System (CARTS) offers free rides to the polls for voters in its service area during both early voting and on Election Day.

CARTS provides advance reservation, flexible shared ride transportation to thousands of Central Texans in the non-urbanized areas of Bastrop, Blanco, Burnet, Caldwell, Fayette, Hays, Lee, Travis, and Williamson counties. In addition to serving the general public, CARTS offers paratransit services to elderly and disabled customers.

Anyone living in the CARTS District will be able to use the CARTS Country Bus service to assist them in getting to the polls. Please schedule your Country Bus ride 24 hours in advance by calling 1-512-478-RIDE (7433) and indicate your wish to travel to a polling location.

You can check the CARTS schedules for your area here. Schedules may vary based on availability in your location.
